About the Artist

Katie is a hairstylist and makeup artist who graduated from the Cosmetology Licensing Program from Shear Ego International School of Hair Design in May of 2022. Katie currently works at Locks Beauty Studio in Bushnell’s Basin assisting owner Tiffany Stern twice a week with extension clients, salon maintenance, and creating social media content. Katie takes clients of her own as well, including bridal clients.

Katie attended college at Ithaca College and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Management and Design with a minor in Business Administration from the Parks School of Communication. She had always loved doing hair and makeup styling, however it was at college where she realized her true calling. Katie auditioned for a fashion club, HiFashion Studios, for the hair/makeup team. In doing work for photoshoots and fashion shows, she made plans to graduate early in 2021 and attend cosmetology school for what would have been her senior year.

Katie’s hobbies mainly include anything music-related. She took classical voice lessons, jazz guitar lessons, and participates in musicals, most recently Pittsford Musicals’ production of Beauty and the Beast. During the summer, Katie sings with her Dad, Grandpa, and sister in a family band known as The Biggest Little Band performing big band music and some classic jazz standards.
